The injection grade for rigid food contact: tableware, meal boxes, cutlery and containers that go through dishwasher and microwave cycles. 40% carbon black on a food-contact carrier system, dispersion-clean so the surface shows no white streaks.
Typical values from in-house QC. We confirm the contractual spec against your order, with a batch CoA on every shipment.

Where AM3910 shows up in our export business, and why buyers pick it.
Microwave-cycle compatible black PP/PE boxes.
Dishwasher-cycle colorfastness — no greying after repeated washing.
Injection and thermoforming lines running food-contact black.
Consistent jetness at low let-down for cost-sensitive volume.
The formulation logic behind the spec sheet — what the chart does not say.
Ash below 11% — roughly half of AM4018 — because rigid tableware shows filler on the surface. Lower mineral loading keeps the molded surface glossy and streak-free, which is what a buyer sees on the shelf.
Dispersion is the visible spec here: carbon black that is not fully dispersed shows up as brown streaks and swirls in glossy black tableware. AM3910 is compounded and screened for cosmetic surfaces.
The carrier system is selected for repeated thermal cycles — microwave and dishwasher — where a poorly matched carrier would embrittle or bloom.
Two food-contact grades, split by process: one for moulded articles, one for film.
| Grade | Carbon black | Carrier system | Let-down | FOB price | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| AM3910 | 40% ±2 | PE + CaCO₃ (food-contact system) | 2–3% | USD 2.20–4.60 | Rigid food-contact articles: tableware, meal boxes, cutlery, containers |
| AM4018 | 40% ±2 | PE + CaCO₃ (food-contact system) | 2–4% | USD 2.20–4.60 | Light-shielding food packaging film, dairy lamination, opaque pouches |
| PP30F | 30% ±2 | PP (unfilled) | 2–4% | USD 2.00–4.30 | Non-food PP parts where carrier compatibility is the driver |
Food-contact work is a documentation exercise as much as a compounding one.
Migration compliance is assessed on the finished article in its intended use — temperature, contact time, food type. The masterbatch contributes compliant raw materials and a testable starting point, not a finished-article certificate. Confirm the article against your market's regulation (EU 10/2011, FDA 21 CFR, or your national equivalent) before launch.
Tableware and meal boxes get tested at defined conditions. Running a cycle or a microwave profile outside those conditions takes the article outside the basis of the compliance work. Decide the real maximum service condition first, then confirm the material against it.
AM3910 is built for rigid, injection-moulded articles. Film needs a different melt behaviour and a different particulate profile — that is what AM4018 is for. Using the rigid grade on a film line produces the sort of surface defect that ends up as a customer complaint.
Yes — that is what the grade is formulated for. Cycle-test data available on request for your market.
Statements and migration summaries on request for EU 10/2011 / FDA / GB 4806. We attach the document to the quote.
Yes — the MFR is matched to run in standard PP injection windows. For all-PP systems with recycled content, PP30F is the alternative with a same-family carrier.
Use the form below or email Zoe Lin with your polymer, process and target. The full AM3910 data sheet goes out the same day, and a free 2–5 kg line-trial sample follows — produced under the same compounding conditions as commercial batches.
A TDS, a lot-specific CoA, and the food-contact supporting documentation for the carrier and additive system on request. Bring your market and your intended service conditions to the enquiry and we will tell you exactly which documents you will need.
That depends on the specific service temperature and duration, not on the grade alone. Give us the intended use — microwave, dishwasher, hot-fill, frozen — and we will confirm which documents apply and whether the grade is suitable.
The carrier system is selected to be low-odour, which matters for a food-contact article. If you have an odour specification or an internal panel test, tell us and we will supply the material for your own evaluation rather than promising a number we cannot measure on your behalf.
Tell us your polymer, process and target carbon black in the part. We reply with the AM3910 spec sheet, a let-down recommendation and a firm factory quote.
AM3910 is compounded to a controlled carbon loading and a matched melt flow. This is the dosing and compounding line behind it.
